A Call To Pray and Repent
A few days ago, Pleasant Hill UMC received some sad news that Jace, one of the youth who participated in Pleasant Hill, shot himself and has been in a coma. His life is currently in the balance, and his family is shellshocked from this tragedy.
At this moment, the best thing we can do as a church is lament and repent for our lack of action and awareness of the brokenness that surrounds our church community. As the body of Christ, we are to be a voice of hope to those who feel as though life is not worth living. I am encouraging everyone who reads this pray not just for Jace and his family but for the church. We must pray that the church may gain clarity to see and meet the needs of our fellow neighbors, always being ready to share the love of Jesus and be a voice of hope. I believe that through our humility, we will see God’s glory in this matter.
